Olive Green Kitchen Backsplash in Reynoldstown
About This Project
This Reynoldstown kitchen renovation used olive green glazed 4x4 square tiles for the backsplash, complementing the two-tone cabinet package (white uppers, dark green lowers) and a farmhouse sink. The tile has a slight variation in glaze depth across each piece, which gives the wall texture and movement without relying on a pattern. The farmhouse sink required precise cuts at the apron-front corners where the backsplash meets the sink reveal, which needed to be done with a grinder rather than a wet saw to get into the tight radius.

What We Did
- Centered the layout on the main backsplash run behind the range, working outward to keep cuts symmetric
- Cut tiles at the farmhouse sink apron corners using an angle grinder with a diamond blade for the curved reveal
- Installed outlet extenders at three box locations, set tile continuously around them
- Grouted with white grout to contrast the olive tile, sealed and reinstalled outlet covers
Olive green tile against dark green lower cabinets is a tonal combination that works well in Reynoldstown's mix of renovated and new-build homes. The white grout keeps the surface readable.
